Pitch Ready is the culmination of 10 years’ research and development and over 30 years’ experience in professional sport. We utilize an innovative blend of consultancy and software-as-a-service (SAAS) solutions to reduce injury risk for high performance athletes.
With a focus on pre-injury reduction strategies and return-to-sport (RTS) testing at its core, Pitch Ready biomechanical testing and clinical interventions were developed following Dr Tim McGrath’s PhD research – to help inform decision making processes in the professional sporting teams he was involved with.
While the research highlighted how effective 3D motion analysis was at quantifying injury risk and rehabilitation themes, it also emphasised limitations in traditional data collection and processing methods. Getting accurate data into a useable format backed by evidence-based practice is both time consuming and challenging for even the most experienced sports scientist and clinicians – often requiring high performance teams to choose speed over accuracy which leads to poor outcomes.
Pitch Ready’s SaaS platform was developed to automate key processing and reporting functions and ensure that evidence based, robust and repeatable 3D biomechanical data can be captured and processed efficiently. The unrivalled processing speed and innovative applications have allowed Pitch Ready to provide pre-injury kinematic assessments to entire squads at their own training facility rather than in a laboratory. Since 2018, our solutions have been utilized and validated by professional sporting teams from 16 different sporting leagues across Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom & most recently the United States – in sports that have historically high incidence of lower limb injuries. We pride ourselves on working with teams to implement broad based injury reduction strategies and generate informed interventions that actually facilitate changes in athlete programming – both pre and post injury.
